Henry Callahan is an old photographer, but his photographs from
Women in Thought are awe-striking. The first time I heard of him was in my History of Photography class, but recently I saw parts of this series at the Tate Modern in the
Exposed exhibition. He was one of the first photographers of the 20th century to photograph strangers on the street without their knowledge. He paved the way for photographers like
Philip-Lorca diCorcia.
